About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate in Metabolomics to join an exciting interdisciplinary project investigating tuberculosis through archaeological science.

This role forms part of the TB-Omics project, which explores diagnostic tools for tuberculosis infection using modern and archaeological skeletal remains. You will play a key role in analysing metabolomic data to identify biomarkers and better understand disease processes, contributing to innovative One Health approaches to global health challenges.

As a Research Associate, you will:

  • Analyse metabolomic data from archaeological and modern bone samples
  • Apply statistical modelling and data visualisation techniques
  • Integrate metabolomics data within biological and archaeological frameworks
  • Contribute to the design and development of research methods and analytical approaches
  • Maintain high-quality data documentation, ensuring traceability and reproducibility

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance the research programme
  • Support mentoring and development of students and early career researchers

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research within a collaborative and supportive research environment.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled researcher with strong analytical and collaborative capabilities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong bioinformatics and data analysis skills, particularly in metabolomics or lipidomics
  • Curiosity and self-motivation, with the ability to adapt to new analytical challenges
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to research challenges
