Fixed Term (up to 12 months Maternity Cover)

Agile working (blend of home and office based)/ Arrangements for job share would be considered.

Keele University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Forensic Science for up to 12-months on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover within our established and growing forensic science programmes.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Digital Forensics, although applicants with strengths across other core areas of forensic science are also encouraged to apply. Importantly, we welcome applications from both academic and practitioner backgrounds. A PhD is not essential for this role; substantial professional experience in digital forensic practice or another relevant forensic discipline will be strongly valued.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across our forensic science programmes, including leading and supporting modules in Digital Forensics, and supervising student research projects where appropriate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner seeking to transition into higher education, or for an academic wishing to contribute to a highly applied, industry-informed programme with strong professional links.

Keele has an excellent reputation for student experience, teaching quality, and academic support, consistently performing strongly in national league tables and student satisfaction surveys. Our forensic science programmes benefit from well-equipped specialist laboratories and digital forensic facilities, designed to replicate professional practice and provide students with hands-on, industry-relevant experience. The successful candidate will join a supportive academic community committed to innovation, interdisciplinarity, and real-world impact.
